Nintendo’s Next Generation Console Might Bring Back Cartridge-Based Games

Previously, the cartridge-based game seems irrelevant due to its storage capacity. But now, thanks to advancement in large storage capacity in the flash memory, bringing back games on cartridge makes more sense.

Other than that, it is a lot more durable which makes it one of their selling point for kids. Currently, the Nintendo 3DS used new generation cartridge which based on specially made flash memory. With the fierce competition among flash memory manufacturers, Nintendo hopes to get a better price to distribute their future games on cartridge.
